Burning BD-R Disc At 14x With LG BH14LS48

Postby Ian on Mon May 07, 2012 9:52 pm

The LG BH14LS48 has arrived in the 'Labs and things are looking promising so far. This drive is FAST. Burns 25GB in less than 9 minutes using Sony 6x BD-R media.

OOOH, starting to get like when the faster DVD burners started finally showing up and it no longer to forever, or cost a lot, to burn good disks quickly

I'm not as bleeding edge as I used to be. I'll probably hold off a bit.

so, does that just go for processors?

Same here 8) I stay a bit back on CPU's and things as it saves me a lot of money and after some time the packages tend to be iromed out and stable.
Then there's the fact I don't have the money laying around I used to so it has to be reasonably cheap for me to play as well...

I don't game as much on my PC as I used to so I tend to upgrade when I need a new technology like SATA 6Gb/s, USB 3.0, etc.

I'll probably upgrade again when Thunderbolt starts showing up on something other than a Mac.

All kidding aside, the LG BH14LS48 sounds pretty hot. I'm still getting along fine with DVDs, but maybe it's time to start thinking about Blu-ray. When does this unit become available? And are you doing a review?

The BH14NS48 isn't available in the US yet but the BH14NS40 is shipping now. It's not really clear what the difference is between it and the BH14NS48. For all I know, its just the bezel.

The BH14NS48 is next in my review queue. I have another drive I need to finish up first.

well lets just say she keeps me grounded on my finances, she's been a blessing. But she understands that I like to have the top shit from time to time. And she loves having a uber nerd in the house 24/7. Nothing is ever broke, slow or old in the house and she appreciates it.
