Can't record +DL Dual Layer discs on Panasonic DMR-EZ475VK

I bought a 5 pack of Memorex DVD+R DL / Dual Layer discs. I have tried all 5 of them and none of them work. On my TV screen it keeps telling me to hit enter so that the DVD Recorder can prepare the disc for recording. Then it either doesn't format, or it says it is unsupportable. Only some of them say unsupportable. Either way, none of them work. I try to hit record and nothing happens. Just more of the same message I originally got - to hit Enter, etc.

I have tried all 5 of the discs and get the same response. They will not record at all. Not with Flexible Recording (Timer) nor with live recording.

I called Panasonic and the guy there told me that he believes there is a problem with the discs and not the unit.

Before I go out and buy different brands of DL discs, does anyone have any advice or have had similar problems? TIA!

Check and see if there is a firmware update available. Otherwise go and pick up a pack of Verbatim discs and give those a shot.

I had already installed a firmware a couple weeks ago. But I ended up buying Sony DL discs earlier today and I have only tried one but it works great!
