What input/outputs do your amp and computer have?

You were talking about 78 RPM records the other day. Is that what you are recording? On any account. you will need to have the audio from the turntable properly EQ'd (and pre-amped) before it is sent to the PC. If you have it connected to a stereo receiver, then use the LINE OUT, TAPE OUT, or REC OUT to go to your sound card. This is what I do when I record music. I record from LP's / 45's only, not 78's. If you are recording 78's they require a special stylus and I'm pretty sure different EQ than LP's / 45's.
