crx230e issues...

Postby skuntbehavior on Tue Jul 06, 2004 1:42 pm

i won't give up till i get this thing to burn properly. i have checked the search area and have learned that this is a rebadged drive. cool. if i could get it to burn up to par, i will be happy. i am using nero 6 and taiyo yuden 52x rated media. at first i had the drive on a controller card along with another 48 burner. i have since taken it off the card and attached it directly to the board. can't get the sony to burn over 40x. dma has been enabled. is there a firmware upgrade to resolve this?
any ideas or suggestions are welcome.
thank you in advance.

Hold the eject button for 5 seconds to toggle Sony's TurboBoost feature.

Flash with the modified QS0E firmware from my page or convert your drive to a Liteon LTR-52327S.

it seems it takes forever to calculate the track volume before any burning actually happens. will play a little.

stranger thing now has happened. i did flash the drive to QS0E and i decided to do a system re-format and for some reason when i throw the windows pro cd into the sony drive, it won't detect the end user licence agreement. i unplug the sony and attach my 48x lite-on and it detects the agreement and off i go installing the os.
what gives? i thought flashing the drive would solve the issues, just seems i have more now.
