Disc Error?

i reciently got a DVD Writer. First thing i did was burn a movie to a DVD+RW disc, and throw it into my set top DVD player. It ran fine to my amazement. Although after the first burn any burns after that dont work as well...

My problem is it seems i cant burn DVD+R discs and play them in the player. ive tried everything. Used 4 programs, disabled certian features, tried to burn at different speeds, and no matter what i try all i get from the player is "Disc Error". Can anybody offer some advice or suggestioins? Ive used Adobe Encore, NeoStandard4, Nero burning rom, and Ulead Videostudio and none of them will burn a DVD+R that will work in my set top player. I thought it might have been the Discs them selfs, like maybe the quality, but Adobe Encore verifies that the discs im using "Ritek 2.4x" are infact set top compatable. PLEASE somebody HELP ME

It's not uncommon for set-top players to be picky about the media they play. My Norcent DP-300 plays everything I throw at it. Yet an older Sony CD player won't play CD-RW discs. Neither does my car stereo.

It's just one of those things. I have heard of some trick in Nero to get a disc to look line another type., but just what it is, I can't recall.

Assuming all your settings are fine, go to dvdrhelp.com
and check the user comments on your player.

It also shows, based on their comments, if it will or won't play
certain types of media (DVD-R, -RW, +R, +RW, CD-R, CD-RW).
