DVD Shrink is free. Why not use that instead? It works great and is very fast.

Just a word for the wise, DVD X Copy express is meant to backup just the movie itself onto one dvd-5 disc (No menus, extras, etc) but DVD X Copy Platinum which is due out for release supposedly at the end of this month is supposed to do a complete 1:1 backup with movie, menus, trailers, extras, etc... basically give you the best of both worlds of the original dvdxcopy and express... I use dvdshrink, dvd2one also and the video quality for dvd x copy express is excellent in comparison... no noticeable difference at all on my big screen and my dvd players. all in all, another great product from 321 studios in my opinion... cant wait for platinum to be released.

Hey guys

My $0.02 onthe issue:

I did some evry externsive visual tests on the trascoding quality of the following products: DVDShrink, dvd2one, the long and traditional CCE method, and InstantCopy. DVD Shrink is the only one I could visually notice to be quite INFERIOR conpared to the original video. There were noticeable blockiness in the picture, especially on uniform, light backgrounds (try the movie "Fast Runner" - all those snow scenes look just terrible encoded with DVD Shrink). CCE method looked a lot better. But to my great surprise (and trust me, I do have alot of experience with this) I cannot differentiate the dvd2one and InstantCopy-encoded films fromt he original, they are that goos. Because dvd2one (esp. the alter version which can encode menues also) is a lot faster than InstantCopy (30 min vs. 120 min), I use dvd2one exclusively.

Good luck

never tried dvd95copy. Was kind of buggy and didnt run on my system. Not that I tried, given the said alternatives are so good.

I've looked at DVDXCOPY and the Express version.

DVDXCOPY lets you select EVERYTHING you want/don't want on the disc, but it won't do a DVD9 on on a DVD5.

Express ONLY copies the movie, but you can still select what audio/subtitle sets you wish to use, and if the movie is 4:3 or 16:9

Express' quality was excellent, as was DVD XCOPY.

XCOPY had one problem I didn't like. If you EXCLUDE some features, the menu buttons for them are still available. If you select the item, the screen goes black and I had to tap the chapter back button to get back to the menu I was on.
