DVD Decrypter Buffer keeps dropping to 0% during burns

Postby jrw on Tue Jan 04, 2005 12:44 pm

I've been using dvd decrypter for awhile now and never had this problem,but since yesterday when burning dvd's the "Buffer" on the left colum keeps dropping to 0% then goes back to 100% randomly throughout a burn,wich causes the Write rate to drop as well, the "Device Buffer" stays around 97 - 100% ,I made sure none of my drives are in PIO mode, could it be a bad batch of media im using? It's Ritek G05 wich ive never had problems with before. I normaly burn at 8x but even when I try 6X it still does it, I havent had any coasters yet but its never behaved like this before, any ideas appreciated.

using a Pioneer 107d burner with latest official firmware, WinXP , P4 3.4ghz , 1gb ram , 200GB Maxtor / 120GB WD hdd's

I'm not sure, but you might try defragmenting your hard drive.
