DVD Decrypter error ripping 2 certain DVD-Rs from standalone

Postby bix on Mon Jan 24, 2005 5:27 pm

Been getting this error on 2 different discs a friend recorded for me:

They both play fine on the PC & Standalone players, but won't rip. All of my other DVDs rip fine, including 3 more from the same recorder. What's the problem? Can I get around it?

Thanks,
-David

Does your recorder maintain a standard VIDEO_TS folder on the DVD-R disc that you could just go to and copy the files manually from?

I tried playing them again, they freeze up at certain points now. :(

They USED to play okay, though.

And I get the same error trying to copy w/ Alcohol 120% or trying to scan them w/ Nero CD-DVD speed. They're Samsung BeAll discs, are those known to degrade fast?

And yes, they make standard folders.

Try using this guide posted by Scubapete.
It helped me with making a backup of The Forgotten.
The part about setting removal method to "aggressive" makes sense.
