DVD-R identifier?

hi there,

does anyone know any osftware that do dvd-r identifying? i got a dvd-r with no rating indicated, burning it at 1x took me more than an hour! i wonder if i can burn at 2x...

What kind of info do you want? CD Speed's Media Info can tell you the manufacturer and stuff.

If you want to know how fast your media can be written, why don't you pop the disc in your drive? The drive'll automatically determine the best writing speed.

i am in doubt whether the drive can determine the speed of the dvd-r, we know in the earlier days of cd-r writing, cd writers can't detect the optimum writing speed for cd-r given.
