Postby seaegg on Thu Jul 15, 2004 1:16 am

I do! I do! He owes me $5 :lol:

By the way, I just got off the phone with Ritek, and it seems that Newegg has EXCLUSIVE rights to their DVD+R9's, the only ones that Ritek USA has now are bundled with their DVD+RWs. So if you buy 500 DVD+RWs, you get *1* DVD+R9.... #-o

So yeah, don't expect them to be showing up in Canada for a while... Verbatim/Mitsubishi will dominate for a while until Ritek has higher production levels.
Punch Cards -> Paper Tape -> Tape Drive -> 8" Floppy Diskette -> 5 1/4" Floppy Diskette -> 3 1/2" "Flippy" Diskette -> CD-R -> DVD±R -> BD-R

According to DigiTimes reports I've read so far, they all seem to think it takes three months for the first-tier media companies in Taiwan on average to mass produce what the Japanese companies has just started production. Three months from June is September. So it may be safe to expect US$3 DL media in fall, but not in summer. As with all things, it'll different with various markets.

Well I burned a 7.6GB movie to my DVD+R DL using Liteon 812s@832s. It has so far played flawlessly in a Yamaha DVD-S540, Yamaha DVD-S5650, LG 7832 and my son's PS2. Now for the prices to come down to a reasonable level.

Well like aviationwiz said they're US$10 now when I bought mine they were still about $15US. When they get down to about $6 CAD I'll be buying some for my personal use only.
