8 cm DVD-RAM

Hi,

I've been looking for a DVD writer that could read 8 cm DVD-RAMs. I have searched the product descriptions from all major manufacturers but hardly anyone mentions 8 cm media at all. Plextor is the only one I have found that mentions it explicitly and it seems only their BlueRay drives support 8 cm. That's overkill for my purposes. Sony NEC OptiArc has a side remark on one of its products that 8 cm disks are only supported when mounted horizontally. Unfortunately, that drive is not available from my preferred supplier. Any suggestions?

Any DVD Ram drive should be able to read and write to the 8 cm discs.

Yeah, well, the Samsung drive I bought now does support it. The really old LG DVD reader I had previously does not. Plextor states that they do not support 8 cm DVD-RAM for most of their drives, which caused my doubts in the first place. But since they are moving out of the business I suppose that is not really relevant anymore.
