Looking through other threads it appears that this 4.3gb threshold comes up frequently. If it is the media then why does the film play okay on one player but freezes on another mmm?
By your comment "then make an ISO" I assume you mean rip the DVD as normal and burn to the 4.3 limit - I am a newby to this!

Some players have problems reading DVDR if you burn to the edge(4464MB).
When buying a spindle of cheap media(or high quality) you can sometimes get one or more bad discs,by "bad" I mean the the organic layer is damaged.
In DVDShrink you have two choices when outputting:make an ISO file(if you have Nero installed) or DVD files.Some players prefer a DVDR burned with an ISO file.
BTW...have you tried DVD+R with the "DVD-ROM" booktype?
