DVD & VCR Combo Players

Postby steelly on Sat Dec 25, 2004 5:18 pm

I have decided to get a new DVD player, and junk my 5yr. old Mintek: It is freeze framing & skipping frames. Any recommendations on a DVD, VCR combo player or a stand alone DVD player?
All information on brands and media compatability are welcome.

Thanks to all and Merry Christmas

my 2-3 year old JVC 55-SL player is still a kickass player, plays both dvd- and dvd+ format both r and rw too

at the time it was only $85 from www.buydig.com:

If you buy a combo unit and the VCR croaks, you're kind of screwed.

I already had a great VCR when my wife and I got married, so we ended up looking at just DVD players. Bought a Sony DVP-NS575P because my roomie had bought one and it played all the Ritek G04 discs I've burned perfectly. Does what I need without being super expensive (it runs around $79USD last I checked).
