Easiest way to backup multiple DVDs

Postby pika2000 on Sun Jul 18, 2004 12:55 am

Hi guys. I would like to back up an anime series that consists of multiple DVDs to 1 DVD-video. I have Nero Recode 2, but it doesn't give me any options to reduce the resolution of the videos to half D1 in order to maximize the capacity. Another option is to reencode the videos using Nero Vision Express, but NVE doesn't seem to recognize the subtittle and chapters, nor the ripped DVD structure (ie. I have to guess which vob is the episode, which is hard if all episodes are combined together to 1 series of vobs).

Are there any other way to do this? Is there a program like Nero Recode 2 that allows you to set the output resolution?

In order to lower resolution you will have convert the VOB's to MPEG and reencode.
Another good transcoder is DVDShrink, first you rip the DVD's to seperate folders then use DVDShrink to reauthor.
