Everybody Hates Raymond

Postby Ian on Tue May 17, 2005 9:52 am

Last night was the last showing of Everybody Loves Raymond. Did I watch? Hell no. I think I am one of the few people that is actually glad the show is off the air. Like Seinfeld, it was overrated and not very funny.

certainly not! I hated that show. I couldn't sit through a full episode without cringing at the pathetic attempts at humour. I'm VERY happy the show is gone. I also hated the episode of Simpsons where it was one big hype commercial for the last episode of Everybody Loves Raymond.

UGH!

I never knew how that show was able to get off the ground. I guess the right people got paid off. I've always hated seinfeld too, I've been brain washed into watching an episode or two, due to the fact that its always on and occasionally watching a minute or two. What a waste..........

It's good to see that I'm not the only one. My wife and I both despise Raymond and Seinfeld and when we say that we don't watch either show, our friends look at us like we're crazy.

I didn't hate Raymond...but I didn't watch it either. I guess the one positive to me was that it didn't resort as much as other sitcoms did to the cheap, crass humor.

Sitcoms today have gone from humor about life to an hour of sarcasm, mocking others, or cheap jokes about sex and the bathroom. I found Seinfeld funny on occasion at least in part because they deviated from the norm that sitcoms have become. They certainly weren't funny all the time (and I couldn't stand Elaine's character) but they sure beat out shows I can't stand, like Will & Grace.

For God's sake, no.

I never, yes, never seen an episode, even when zapping I pass very fast.

Unfortuantely this is one case where a spatial affinity to the other board dwellers is advantageous.

We don't get those shows here and I haven't a clue what you're talking about. :o

I found Raymond extremely unfunny as well.

In fact I personally think that 99% of sitcoms made in the last 5 years, US or otherwise, have been dire. The US ones in particular just seem so generic, sarcastic and unsophisticated. I can watch two sitcoms back to back and not be able to distinguish the humour or recall anything of the plotlines.

Very poor indeed.

Do they seriously make CSI Vegas? There have been *WAY* too many CSI editions in too short a time period. Law & Order (*SO* much better of a show) progressed slowly into have different editions.

well, i really liked Seinfeld. i think it was one of the best shows of the 90s.

Raymond, i don't like. seen some episodes, mainly because the wife likes the show. personally i think Ray is a pumpkin. the only good comedy in that show comes from his brother.

C.S.I. Vegas is the VERY FIRST ONE! I made the point of saying Vegas so that people wouldn't ask if it was Miami or New York

For some reason most of the shows I watch are on Fox, Discovery, Comedy Central or Cartoon Network. The only shows on the major networks that I watch are ER and Crossing Jordan (wife got me hooked).

I didn't like or hate Raymond, but I am glad it's gone. Now Seinfeld, that show I HATE. HATE, HATE, HATE, HATE!

I'm all about CSI :)
I like all three, but the first one is the BEST show on TV.

Never seen Raymond, but I've seen every episode of Seinfeld at least 3 times. If you don't like Seinfeld, something is seriously wrong (give it another chance Ian!). CSI (all 3) also is way too addicting. I like the original L&O (like the first 5 seasons), but the new stuff and all of its spin-offs suck...

I like the show but very seldom watch TV. It isn't Ray that's funny. It's the old man and Robert.
