Firmware update

Postby finnishguy on Fri Nov 21, 2003 1:46 pm

I have Samsung SM-352B combo-drive. The firmware version is T806/EXP.
The newest firmware for my drive is T807. The only improvement (in Samsung's website) is "Progress of disk cognitive faculty"
What does it actually mean (if someone could explain it in Finnish, I would be very pleased :D, but English will be fine too)?
Should I upgrade the firmware or not? What are the imrovements?
If the update progress goes wrong, is my drive completely unuseful?

Yeah, Samsung's descriptions are about as bad as Lite-On's. Usually their updates add support for new media, etc.

If your drive is working fine now, you don't need to upgrade the firmware.
