Congrats man, I'm sure you won't be sorry! :)

The best part is (and I'm sure you'll agree), you can now scour the world and look at all the various releases of the same movie, and find out which ones have the best video and audio transfers (or special features if you prefer). Really opens up your options that way.

I've got another friend up here about to buy a PS3 and a Sony Bravia HDTV.

Exactly! The Resident Evil's (which I got from Germany) I've been able to determine now are region free, which is a good thing  Was in Future Shop today, and they have a BD buy one get one free (supposed to be from a list of 50, but the shop had no list, so I got a free pick from them all, grabbed 8  ) and HD-DVD's are on for $19.99, not as good a deal. Really just get's them both close to Amazon. Regular price there for BD's is 28.99 and up :o , gangsters :( .

I'm waiting for the BD-UP5000. Only way I'm going format neutral is with unified hardware (unless something ridiculous like a $99 Blu-Ray player becomes available...ha, fat chance).
