Have you enabled DMA?

Have you tried using different kinds of blank discs?

Had the same problem with the GCE-8400b and after hours of trying to find out what is the problem I decided to reinstall windows.
After reinstalling the speed of the drive is fine.
Before reinstalling windows, when I checked the speed in Nero cd speed the drive didn't pass *10 speed.
After it reached *40 with no problem.
I think the problem was because I installed ASPI driver that I downloaded someware.
