Got my Verbatims Dual Layers...Price News

Postby jberry on Fri Sep 03, 2004 10:31 am

Well a Staples I weent to here in Canada had them...said they were expecting "tons" of them...thanks to all who offered to send some my way.

Cost was $46.95 for 3....will be run to try out on my 4120b

So what is the price news? Well the Staples manager said that Verbatim here in Canada expected that the 3 pack price should be cut "in half" in 2.5 months...dunno if this is BS or not but could be good news.

I will let you know how burning works out.....also will test on 3 machines with bitset to DVD-ROM

how much space is on these things anyway? -r has 4489 megs...how many megs on this 8.7 gig thing?

46.95 + GST/PST or was that after taxes?
Which Staples was it (Province & City please). It will help others.

That's 46.95 CDN is about $36US for our friends to the south. Not a bad price for 3 DL Verbatim discs.

I'm told CMC DVD+R9 are available at wholesale of $6.50 now... I'm trying to get some in from Taiwan, but it's proving difficult.

Ritek has also already dropped in Price on the wholesale level. Verbatim is very strange since pricing varys quite a bit from supplier to supplier. Someone told me they could be purchased wholesale at <$5 USD already! too bad I don't know where to look if that is the case.

I swear this industry is becoming crazier and crazier all the time!

The day you got into this industry was one of it's darkest days.

Now, when Ian got into the industry, that was it's darkest day, period.

Actually, when I joined It was a sunny day

Heh, it's hard to believe I've really only been in this industry for 3 years, and already things have come so far! So many things have changed, and trying to keep up with every new thing is very difficult! I can only imagine what things will be like in 1 year, yet alone 10 years!
