lg gsa 4163b, problem with read rate?

Postby victor04 on Fri Aug 19, 2005 7:08 pm

well sorry because i know very little about dvds, my problem is that when i made the iso of a dvd for example of a movie of 4.5gb ( i use dvddecrypter or alcohol or dvdshrink) my read rate is at 4x or 5x and then it start increasing but not too much. the question is, is this normal? because the dvd read at 16, which is the normal read speed when we make iso of dvds?

Wrong forum, the 4163 is a DVD-writer :)

Look here:

Some drives (like LG, NEC, Toshiba etc.) are riplocked when reading movie-DVDs, that means the drive read slower or extremly slower (Toshiba) of it´s maximum speed.
