What are you trying to do? Read the disc? Write to it?

What software are you using? The stuff built into Vista or something else?

I want to write to them. Explorer says they are full, Nero says they are full and identifies them as dvd-ROM.

Don´t have Vista, but with my old LG 4802 and XP I was able to format the RAM with right Moseklick and "Format"

Maybe u need a DVD-RAM-driver

http://cdgenp01.csd.toshiba.com/content ... vdramx.exe

and the update for the driver

He shouldn't need a driver if he's running Vista.

Could it be a conflict with different software? Nero should be able to erase it, except if some programms in the background use the drive
