In House Review - ASUS CRW-4816A 48/16/48 CD-RW

Postby Ian on Thu Jan 01, 1970 2:56 am

CDRLabs has taken a look at ASUS\'s new 48/16/48 CD-RW, the CRW-4816A. Like the name suggests, the CRW-4816A writes at 48x. However, its also one of the first drives to feature 16x rewriting speeds. The CRW-4816A also features ASUS\'s own FlextraLink, FlextraSpeed and DDSS II technologies and is the first drive from ASUS to ship with support for the new Mt. Rainier format.

In this review we\'ll take a look at some of the features found in ASUS\'s new drive and see how it compares to some of the other 48x writers currently available. Does the drive deliver the performance and quality ASUS is known for? Are 16x rewriting speeds really all they\'re cracked up to be? You\'ll have to read the review to find out.

This review has taken a lot of my time so I am a little behind. Our review of the Yamaha CRW-F1 is coming up along with a whole bunch of new drives and even some new software. Keep checking back!

Were the problems in writing and rewriting fixed? Anybody knows?..
