How to enable DMA on WinXP?

Postby neutron on Tue Mar 25, 2003 5:00 pm

Hi,

I have Asus CDR-4816A and CUSL2-C motherboard, installed as secondary slave. Just wonder how too enable DMA?

It seems that my motherboard doesn't detect the UDMA33 mode, do I need to change the jumper?

Thanks

every time i install my win xp pro w/sp1 slipstreamed, DMA is auto enabled, if you need to enable it manually just hold the ALT key and double click My computer, then click on the hardware tab, then device manager

you should see a item called IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers, then double click on the primary IDE channel or secondary IDE channel, check to make sure DMA if available is selected in the device settings for both device 0 and 1
