laser degrading?

i heard a rumor that if u continuously burn at 40x on a 40x burner that it is not good for the laser and should burn at a slower speed. is this true? :lol:

That's BS. The only thing I could think of is more wear and tear on the drive motor due to the high rotation speeds, but the laser?

I wouldn't worry about wearing out your drive. You'll probably get a new one before then anyway.

I agree with Ian and even so now 40X drives are so cheap I wouldn't care anyway. Mind if I ask you where did you heard (or read) this?
