Lite-on 52x24x52 won't burn at 52x after format

I installed my new Lite-on 52x24x52 drive and was burning at 52x pretty good. I needed to reformat my hard drive due to several old errors, and some other problems that had been annoying me too long. After I reformatted, Nero will no longer allow me to burn at 52x, what gives? I installed the version of nero that came with the burner, so I assume that it is the latest, and I did check for updates and there were none. Is it possibly the media that I am now using, I did switch to some sony cdr's? Why is there a difference now?

I think you figured it out already. Not all media will write at 52x. Try turning off the drive's SMART-BURN support and see if those Sony discs will work at 52x.

I wish I had some 52x media to test out on my 52x LiteON too.
