Lite-On 52x24x52x: An Owner's 1st Impression

Burn baby burn!

I'll stick with my LTR-48125W.

I'd rather not spend $75 or so on a new burner to save 6 or 8 seconds of burning time.

I just burned a 96 minute DATA disc (using 99 minute media).

And I got this screen shot just before the speed dropped down to 40x while reading for errors.

Image

Note the read speed. 55x ! The disc finished the error check with 0 errors. It was recorded at 8x.

Maybe 55.3x is the max the 52x LiteON can handle?

Heh, I found Spaz's identity at the cd-rw.org forums. Isn't that right, Racemann? :D

Or perhaps I'm not the gumshoe that I thought I was and this guy ripped off Spaz's work. Which is true, Spaz?

Actually that was my work. I use Racemann b/c they couldn't take "Action Jackson".

I first posted it here, then at cd-rw.org and then at elitebastards.com.

Hey, if you or anyone see's the "Roundup of HighSpeed CDRW" overburning results posted as their own work without given me credit, then please let me know!

As Action Jackson said, it was him, not me.

But while we're on the sleuth subject. Are you the same TheWizard who's posting @ NCIX.COM ?

If yes, you found out who I was back in November!

My mistake, Action Jackson. For some reason I thought this thread contained those results, but apparently I got my threads confused. Sorry about that.

Spaz: No, I'm not the same TheWizard on NCIX.com.

Bump.

I've fixed the pictures by uploading them to Sympatico's personal webpage server. There should never be a broken link now, and they had better load fast too!

If you find a broken link, please let me know.

Thanks.
