Did Lite-On release two different versions of the drive identified as the LTR-12101B? The firmware flasher for this drive that is downloadable at Lite-On's web site actually has two versions of the firmware built in: LS23 and LS3J. I have noticed that on my LTR-12101B (rebadged Creative), the LS1x and LS2x firmwares don't work properly (flashing in DOS with PFLASH), but the LS3x firmwares work perfectly.
