Lite-On LTR-52246S 6S02?

I checked the Elby hardware list recently, and now they have added the LTR-52246S. However it says that it is only compatible with firmware 6S02.

What's with that? I've tested it with both 6S04 and 6S07 and it has no trouble making working copies of CDs protected with SafeDisc v2, SecuRom, etc.

Btw. has anyone seen a good test on it? (testing EFM encoding, etc.)

The hardware list probably just wasn't updated to reflect the new firmware releases. LiteOn releases firmware updates pretty often, but the updates are mostly just media compatibility updates that allow the burners to select the best speed and laser settings for burning various media. The firmware updates usually make no change to the basic function of the drive itself. Thus, it is no surprise that versions 6S04 and 6S07 work as well or better than 6S02.
