liteon 411 and 8x discs

Hi -

My 411 has worked great for the past year but the store I buy discs at has
dropped Memorex 4x DVD-R discs in favor of Memorex 8x discs and they get
burned at 1x (whereas the 4x discs burned at 4x which is what this drive is
capable of). Anyone know if a firmware upgrade is the problem (I'm using rev
F)? Liteon site firware d/l doesn't seem to indicate anything useful and I really
don't want to upgrade firmware unless I know it will fix this problem (burning 8x
discs at 1x when it should burn 4x).

Go to the LITEON FORUM at cdfreaks.com to post your problem. there are lots of people in there that can help you out. I have a 411 but I flashed to a 811 drive by using the zebra mod.
