LTR-48246S become 40x after patch

hi there,

i used the latest patch for LTR_48246S and i burn using nero, nero only allows 40x as fastest burning speed, did anyone encounter this problem?

SMART-BURN was probably updated, and it doesn't like your discs.

What discs are you using? You might want to try 48x Fuji if you're in the US, because they are made by Taiyo Yuden.

strange... i put 48125W and 48246S on same IDE channel and 48125W allows 48x in my Sony... but 48246S won't... so far i burn at 16x just for assurance...

Well, the two drives have different firmware. Try this: take the disc out of the 48246S and reboot. Then open Nero and look at the available write speeds before you insert any media. You will probably see 48x in the list.
