The Marantz name speaks for itself.

damn that looks kickass, just wish i had that kind of money lying around

i plan on building one kickass home theatre system, since i have the discounts at best buy

Yes, it is considered to be a "kickass" piece of equipment - the higher end Marantz receivers are often considered to be similar to names such as NAD and Rotel etc.

I had a hard time making a decision of whether to sell it or not.
I went with another Elite in the end because I like the 'function rename' feature so much and it looks a bit nicer in my opinion, even though the Marantz might be a bit more musical than the Elite and is a name I always wanted to own. :(
Oh well, maybe the next series will include function rename.

Unfortunately there aren't a lot of reviews for the SR8400, but the new 7500 and 8500 have received rave reviews.
For the money, it is a no brainer in terms of audio quality, which is why I jumped on it initially.

Just hope your neighbors can't hear it. :)
