You Americans get the most incredible hard drive deals. Is it just me, or does it it seem like the HDD manufacturers are trying to get rid of their PATA drives?

Crap...those 400GB drives are unavailable now :evil:

Woulda been a great drive for an external USB case (I should know...got one already :))...
BenQ 1655, BenQ 1620, LG 4167, Plex PX-716SA, Samsung SH-S162L, SH-S182M, Pioneer 111D, Lite-On SHM-165H6S and 1.9TB of HDDs to feed 'em and an X2/4800 to crunch for 'em.

Nice deals on those Maxtors, I'm in for a couple of the 200gb models. Planning to use them for MP3 storage.

Now I need to find a nice deal for a Sansa MP3 player.

Not sure about retail, but online, Outpost is showing $49.99 for both of the Maxtor drives in question.

Last week they had a 400GB (I think) Seagate SATA drive for $110 with free shipping.

Yes, that's the one I snatched. They dropped the price to $100 this past week but it's OOS.
