Nero hangs on writing DVD-R(W) Directory

Nero 6.x loops forever and must be killed by task manager when writing the directory of a DVD (just before finalizing the disc).

It happens when at least one of the files contains an ampersand "&" in its filename, e.g. "bla.blubb.[a&b].avi".

My writer is a Plextor 712A and it happens with all Nero 6.x Versions and all DVD medias (I tested -R, +R and +RW). I'm using W2K Pro.

I've wasted several DVD-R, until I noticed that Nero doesn't like the ampersand but didn't warn me about it!

Is it a Nero bug or a bug of my Plextor Firmware (1.05)?

I would say Nero bug, as our software should warn you that character is not accepted. I'm sure if you tested with CD-R/RW media, or simply attempted to write to the Image Recorder you would get the same symptom.

I'll create a bug report so that we report a proper error message when an incorrect character is used.
