Nero Vision not working with PhotoSnap (burned pics for bkup

Postby b_atkinson on Sun Aug 07, 2005 1:32 pm

I have nero 6 ultra with all the latest updates. August 5th udpates are installed.
I used Smart start then clicked on data then used nero express to burn a back up of photos I have on hard drive to cd/r. After burn completed successfully it ejected. I then inserted cd and the auto pop-up of what program to use came up. I selected nero photosnap and checked make this default.

Photosnap will allow me to view the pics in thumbnail (via the open choice from menu).

However, when I try to open a picture it gives me the error "invalid parameter."

I then used windows explorer to find the pics and chose to open using microsoft office picture manager.

The pictures open fine with that program. They are saved as dsc00836 type file name.

THey are saved as jpeg images. They default with the photosnap viewer icon as the choice program to open.

I did take nerocheck and incd out of my start up menu via msconfig. I did so because I felt my system was really slowed down even though it is less than a year old and not much software is on it.

I just looked and I now have two of each (nerocheck and incd) in the msconfig startup window. I suppose this might have happend with the new update? However, I am not sure. So, one nerocheck and one incd is checked (to start up automatically) and one nero check and one incd are not set up to start automatically. I have no idea what all that means.

I had this problem in the past and gave up. I figured that with the updates this would have been corrected by now.

This is the link to my old post and the responses I received:
http://www.cdrlabs.com/phpBB/viewtopic. ... +parameter

I did as I was instructed and I am able to burn the pics from the cd/r to hard drive and then they will open using photoshap viewer. They just won't open from the cd/r using the viewer.

Any help is greatly appreciated,

i would leave the NeroCheck entry.
however for InCD, removing it from the startup registry entry (msconfig) doesn't really get rid of it. if you're not using InCD, simply uninstall it.

Yes, I was hoping this would have been resolved by now as well. Unfortuneately, our Engineers and QA were not able to reproduce this on any systems they have in Germany. #-o

Yet I am able to duplicate this on all my systems here in the United States. The good news is that I did send our team in Germany a system that we are able to duplicate this issue on. They will keep this system to resolve this issue, and any future issues that come up where we are able to confirm in the US, but they are not able to confirm in Germany.

I'm hoping this will prevent other such bugs from taking so long for us to address properly and quickly.
