Hello, I have been unable to use the Nero Wave Editor to edit my audio wav files for some reason.Have used Nero for about three years now, lately new problem.
First of all, this is NOT a .wma file issue, as I very infrequently use that format. I utilize .mp3 and .wav files at almost ALL TIMES.
Here is the current and NEW problem:
1) when I "rip" an audio file from a commercial cd into a .wav file utilizing Nero Burning Rom to rip, and then try to edit in Nero Wave Editor, I can edit it, but cannot SAVE file, getting the following error message: "A temporary file could not be produced. Please make sure the target file is not in use and that the directory for temporary files in 'editor options' is correct"
-->I do not understand this error message! Where would my directory for temporary files be located ideally? Obviously, I can put a temporary file anywhere, but where is Nero looking for it specifically? How do I address this problem?
2) when I "rip" an audio file from a commercial cd into a .wav file utilizing the software that I always have used (dbPower Amp utility) to rip, and then try to edit in Nero Wave Editor, I get this message now: "Cannot add file C:track 03.wav The selected WMA file(s) are protected and cannot be processed.
--->These were not saved as, nor are they .wma files! They were converted directly from .cda file on commercial cd through Nero Burning Rom...The error message even says that the file in question is a .wav file!
3) when I "convert" an audio file from a downloaded .mp3 file into a .wav file utilizing the software that I always have used (dbPower Amp utility) to rip, and then try to edit in Nero Wave Editor, I get this message now: "Cannot add file C:track 15.wav The selected WMA file(s) are protected and cannot be processed.
--->These were not saved as, nor are they .wma files! As stated, they were converted from .mp3 files.
I have updated Nero Burning Rom, updated Windows Media Player, and updated MusicMatch Jukebox since these errors started last month, but nothing has changed. Should I completely delete Burning Rom and reinstall it? Maybe with previous version? Or, reinstall WinXP pro?
Please help! Thank you
