DW1640 BSRB - http://support.benq.com/files/storage/F ... 0/BSRB.zip

Update the wriitng strategy

DW1670 1.02 - http://support.benq.com/files/storage/F ... 70-102.zip

Great change logs. Someone from Lite-On must be writing these.

No I think some old Benq employee is writing them but ussing more lIte on style in case of lite on it should have been:

considering the writing quality of that new DW1640 firmware (based on a scan I saw), I'd say LiteON is probably doing the tweaking now. Either that or BenQ is being forced to test burn quality on LiteON drives with K-Probe now. :o

General concensus at CDF seems to be that it's a crappy firmware and that BSLB is still best, and I'm inclined to agree.

Well the last firmware actually did make my dl writing to Verbatims better, didn't help with the Memorex crap.
Now when are they going to screw ove...I mean update the 1655.
I was hoping the monkeys at liteOn weren't totally in charge of updating BenQ drives now, we'll see

Typo, Ian. That should be BSRB, not BSPB.
