a new brand of audio restoration software

hi
im trying to find a good brand of audio restoring software that can restore 78s..most of these softwares like nero
or roxio never say they do 78s always lps or cassette tape..id like from the gang here to supply me with the names
of decent softwears of this type of media..like diamont cut..good or not? thanks..

Sony Sound Forge or Adobe Audition. They are not cheap, but their noise reduction works well for removing noise. Remember though, you cannot polish a turd into a diamond... That is, if the recording is real noisy, you may find it difficult to get all of the noise out.

I haven't tried it yet, but there is a new version of Audacity out. I think it also has a noise reduction plug-in.

What ever you decide to do, don't go overboard on noise reduction. Doing multiple passes may be better than trying 100% in 1 pass.

thanks..yea im going with diamond cut..its supposed to be "made" for this kind of stuff.

I used to have Magix on my old XP PC. I don't think it had cleaning capabilities though, so I cannot comment on that. IIRC, it was a burning software and worked well.
