Burn baby burn!

new message what does it mean?

Postby Neilfenstein on Fri May 14, 2004 3:13 pm

I have tried re-configuring my pc to run with a serial ata hd. This has meant that I have my dvd rom and lite on cdrw as masters of their own ide channel. I did this in the hope of removing any errors and reasons for why my cdrw did not work previously. Since reinstalling windows i had a go a writing a cd with all my newly collected up-to-date drivers. I burnt the cd at 52x and it worked fine. However, I just attempted to write another cd and it failed and gave a power calibration error!
Any ideas?

1st thought - try different media ?
2nd thought - the burner is dying (hope not...)
3rd thought - update to the latest firmware.

I had a the same problem with a batch of Prodisc media.I wasted 3 CD's and then tried other one,it worked.I then went back and changed Prodisc to some other brand.I guess it was a faulty lot.
