Newbie...Help with making .AVI into DVD...

Postby PeytonJ on Tue Feb 22, 2005 7:42 pm

I recently downloaded an hour long program to watch on my computer in .AVI. I had to then download the program DiVX to watch it. Then, I got a DVD recorder and found out that I could make DVD's and now I would really like to make the show that I downloaded onto a DVD so that I do not have to watch it on my computer. So, how do I do that? I have two programs that I think would let me do this: Roxio (a program that came with my computer) and Unlead DVD Movie Factory (which came with a program that I bought so that I could have TV on my computer). Can anyone help me understand any of this so that I can record these shows on to a DVD? I would greatly appreciate it!

I like The filmmachine can convert avi to vcd, svcd, and dvd. You have to have a encorder or decorder. I use canopus it works quite well but is about 50 bucks. but there is a free one don't know how it works it is called quenc. Here is link the link to the filmmachine http://members.home.nl/thefilmmachine/ and a link to quenc http://www.doom9.org/?/mpg/quenc.htm hope this helps
