News of CD-R/CD-RW Drives

About a week ago went to local OfficeMax store to get a Verbatim 48x12x48 CD-rw they had on special sale. They were out of stock but substituted a Verbatim 52x24x52 CD-RW, nothing on outside of box to indicate who made the drive. Mitsui Advanced Media announced availability of their new 52x CD-R media in January:

I've been having problems getting my SM348b to burn cds at high speeds without encountering emptied buffers, justlink pauses, etc... it seems that it burns just fine at 16x but when I go to 24x or 32x the system can't keep up.

Considering to replace my 2 years old Cyberdrive 52x CD-ROM, which is dying, with a second CDRW drive. Should I wait for the Liteon 52x32x52x or go for theYamaha F1? I can't name a particular type or speed, just generally...are Ricoh's CD-Rs good -- and who makes them?

i bought lg GCE-8480B recently, burned about 5cds on it, most on 32x because of that "feature" that lowers the writing speed (but the cds were 48x).
all the burned cds are COMPLETELY UNREADABLE on my LG DVD or my other waitec burner or in mp3 player. its nothing wrong with dvd coz i can normally read cds burned on waitec or other burners... ONLY the 8480b can read the cds. wtf is wrong, is ...

I flashed my Memorex 48MAXX succesfully to a 52X Lite-On but am having problems burning CD-RW's. I wanted to flash it back to the original firmware for troubleshooting but lost it along with everything else a few months ago. I was hoping somebody either has it or can get it for me. Thanks in advance.

The title pretty much says it all. This is a 48x16x48 burner I put in my wife's computer. I've always kind of wondered who made it. It would be interesting to read some reviews of the thing.

Does anyone know where I can purchase one of these drives in Canada? I've looked at every online retailer I can find, but no one carries the black version of the drive.

Any help would be appreciated!
