News of CD-R/CD-RW Drives

I was at my local Walmart yesterday and found a spindel of 100 48X blank cdr's for $19.88. I have never heard of the Teon brand before any one have any info on them?

It looks like this drive is based on an Optorite CW5205,
as it has this number printed on a sticker at the flashmemory.
And it has CW5201 printed on the PCB, maybe these drives share PCB.
This drive uses Sanyo LC898095 chipset.

I recently bought and installed in an external USB enclosure a CenDyne CD/RW drive (38x12x48).

At first it worked just fine on the Mac. Then I used it on the PC and now it does not work on the Mac. Says Driver not found!!!

Any experiences like this? Any fix :-)

Recently upgraded my machine to Win2KPro OS, I need a driver or installer for a Philips CDRW-2412A; none of the usual sources have
this, the W98 installer from Philips on CD doesn't work, system crashed when running installer. :evil:
Is there any hope of getting this Philips drive to work or should I give it the flotation test and buy something else? (This was only $60 at ...

I've ordered the Buslink 52x24x52x Internal CD-RW
But I can't find info or Reviews anywhere! All I know so far is that some are Smartburn and Liteons, And some are Justlink Aopens. Anyone have more info or links, Etc then that?? I don't mind getting the Justlink Aopen model for $15 hard to go wrong, Due to be delivered tomorrow, I've read some justlinks and some are getting smartburn units, Just can't find any reviews! ...

Anyone know about this drive or have any background information about it? I have a friend who does a lot of mass burning and he's having massive issues using Nero. He's getting buffer underrun errors and all, and I'm wondering if there's a firmware upgrade or something he could do to it to make it more reliable. Also, on some discs, Nero will read and write the speed of the CD-Rs hes using as 32x ...

Didnt i learn from my other dyberdrive? $hit man!!! i bought a cd-rom drive for 26$ from newegg.com. Can someone plz tell me where can I read about the different kinds of errors on cd's - what is Cx errors, how and why are they created and how do they effect the total quality of a disc? and so on...
