News of CD-R/CD-RW Drives

Is the Burning Time Up directly
or usually related to too much stuff
on hard drive partitions and/or OS (Win98se, Win2k, WinXP) used ???

I have 2 PCs, Both have 52x CDRW Liteons, one WinXP, the other Win98se.

Copy and burn the same(size) VCD.
Time it. (Note, Both VCD was riped into a empty Hard Drive Partition)

The (Hard Drive Partitions pretty filled-up) Win98se PC took 4~5 minutes "longer" to burn.

Hi, I just bought an LG GCC-4320B combo drive and I've been using it for two weeks. I find it is getting a bit to hot while playing cdroms.

When I play a DVD movie, it is ok because the drive turns alot slower but when it turns fast, for exemple when I play a game like Diablo 2, it seems to get more than just warm.

Hi all, I bought a Aopen 4048 writer, it worked well for 4 months and is now giving me write errors at 78% when burning. Despite updating the firmware and changing OS (WIN98/2000). Having visited the aopen site, i have noticed this drive has REAL problems due to the level of complaints.

Since aopen is not interested in resolving the situation, can anyone shed any light on this as I am about to lob it ...
