Burn baby burn!

Is the Plextor worth paying the extra money for?

OK, I don't need people to tell me to "buy a LiteOn" instead or whatever, as I already have one (and a few other brands lol).

I just would like to know if the Plex is still far enough ahead of the cheaper competition to warrant paying 50% more for it than a different drive. They are solid, yes. They have all kinds of fancy features and the write quality appears very solid.

But is ...

In House Review - TDK veloCD 52/24/48 CD-RW

CDRLabs has taken a look at TDK's newest CD-RW, the veloCD 52/24/48. And no, that's not a typo. The drive actually writes faster than it reads. TDK's new veloCD writes at 52x, rewrites at 24x and reads at 48x. The drive also has many of the features we've come to expect from TDK like SMART-Burn buffer underrun protection, SMART-X extraction monitoring technology and support for the Mt. Rainier format. A Second cd writer OR a dvd drive

I already have a LTR/48125W. I want to replace my ageing Acer 50x cd rom drive. I am planning to go for a second cd writer(LG 48x). Should I instead go for a dvd rom drive like LTR 166s ?

Thanks.....

I was just browsing through TDK's website and happened to come across a new firmware for the TDK VeloCD 48x24x48 Internal CD-RW Drive. The previous firmware was S7S5, while the newest version is S7S8. TDK claims this firmware upgrade will offer improved compatibility with a variety of recordable media.

You can look at it here

They both belong together but I don`t know in which format to burn it down in so that my DVD can read it. :-? At the moment under ISO burn the DVD is only reading MP3 and thats it! The vcd method is not recognising MPEG1 format, however, it ...

CDRLabs Forum Rules

At the request of some of you, a list of forum rules have been put together. They won't affect most of you, but I urge you to read them over anyway.

CDRLabs Forum Rules

Keep in mind that this is still a work in progress and they will probably be updated as the need arises.
