Burn baby burn!

Cendyne 48x12x48 from OfficeMax

Having trouble with this drive...When I run CDCopy (via Nero 5), the process nearly completes (99% of the write is finished) and the program aborts with "Write Failed at 48x". The same thing occurs if I write at slower speeds. I copy from a CDROM to the CDRW drive, so I thought I would take the CDROM down and just try the copy with the RW drive...same result. (Yes, both drives are configured correctly with ...

User opinions on Teac CD-W512S, anyone...?

I think I know the answer to this, but has the Teac CD-W512S been a good performer in anyone's experience? And does it have Burnproof? Everyone seems to consider the 58S to be so good... I have a 512EB myself, which is great -- any opinions on the 512S?

Internal CD-RW 48x12x48 - Nightmare (Somewhat Urgent)

Well, I've had problems with this thing since I bought it... It is a Norcent RW481 48x12x48 Internal CD-RW drive.

I was originally running under Windows 98. The burner worked, but it would just stop working at random times. This may be due to the fact that I was using it as my main CD drive rather than my burner, so I could understand that... but here's where it gets annoying.

I recently upgraded to ...

Overclock your 32x or 40x Artec or Aopen to 48x!!!

Reason I ask is as follows:

I've been having a look at the Artec 48x CDRW drive. The latest ones seem to have a firmware version which is a bit more media friendly (still picky but it seems to work to an acceptable standard with Ritek and Prodisc 48x media).

Meanwhile I've ascertained that it's highly likely that the 32x and 40x Artec drives (and therefore 32x and 40x Aopen ones ...

Iomega 48x24x48 Ext USB 2.0 drive...

This is now on "sale" at CompUSA for a pretty decent price ($99 after rebate). I'm pretty sure this is a Lite-On drive and I actually used to LIKE HotburnPro (by Asimware) until Iomega bought them out and just sat on the program. Very cool interface.

Anyway...does anyone have any experience with this drive? I hear the biggest issue with Iomega is that they never upgrade their firmware....or offer any support. Overlooking these minor issues ...

Problem with Sony CRX195E1 (Liteon 40125S)

Dudes, I have a Sony CRX195E1 40/12/48 burner firmware ZYS5 which comes as part of the equipment. (It is an OEM Lite-on 40125S as claimed by Sony as well as CDRLabs, CDRInfo forums).

Recently, especially while writing videos of Friends or music videos on CD-R, the later portions of the discs seem to get ruined. The occur no buffer underruns or reported read or burn errors. The disc claims to burn successfully and eject. Even ...

Does anyone know what would make the cdr drive stick close

The only way to get it open after inserting a Cd-rom is to eject from My Computer. I cant use the button to make the tray come out. Anyone have any suggestions. It only seems to lock audio cd's in the drive
