News of CD-R/CD-RW Drives

My cd burner is about gone. I have used it for 4 or 5 years i am guessing. It started making coasters and i thought it was the cdr's but i know it is my burner. It makes some with noises, messes up and stops alot. So i would like to know what dvd/cd burner should i buy? I have never burned dvd's but i have always burned alot of cd's.

ok it says i have no disc in the drive when i put one it. it only reads music cd's, im not sure if it used to read dvds but it doesnt. it doesnt even read my utilities cd that came with my computer. and i cant even burn music, cus it says its only a cd rom drive. any help is greatful. thanks

I heard a good cd burner is better than dvd burner to burn musics, is this true?

Now considering this, I'm looking for the best burning to burn music... and only music. I want a high quality burner dedicated for this task as my preview one sucks at burning music cd's.

I thought about the Plextor 230A... anyone have any thought on this? thanks. I appreciate it.

I'm using internel ASUS CDR-5232A4 in an external casing via USB and I tried to update the firmware with the newer one 1.01 The firmware update did not complete and the laptop shutdown after 2 hours.

Since then the drive is not detected in
-usb casing
-win xp sp2
-even bios setup of another desktop pc when connected on IDE

Normal working of the drive: Power on > Led blinking > Led blinking ...

when i play cds on my cdrom the sound is terrable and it skips.this just
started happening recently.it doesnt seem to be about to read the cd very well-it used to not now though.any ideas??

Anyone else out there still burn audio cd's? Just curious, as my
LiteOn 52327 and Plextor Premium are getting up there age wise
and still see a great deal of use. I've read what reviews are available
for current cd only burners and for the cd burning capabilities of dvd

I just downloaded a bunch of promotional wma files and they won't play in Winamp because it asks me to get a license? How can I just convert them to WAV so I can put them on CD and play them? This is the first time I've ever had to deal with this because I don't use iTunes or buy downloadable music. If I download the license will it allow me to burn the songs ...

Hey everyone, i'm new to cd burning and i just ordered a 30 spindle of 48x CD-RWs. The question i have is my drive is a 24x and the cds i bought are twice that speed. Will they still work and if so how or what do i have to do? I know you can change the burn speed of the drive but if i do so will i still be able to use these ...

I want to upgrade to EAC V0.95 beta 4 but I don't feel like going through the hassle of putting in all of the settings that I have (it seems like it took me a LONG time to get them all correct and the way that I wanted them) - is there a way to save them so they will appear in the new version or do I have to change them all manually?
