Anyone know if the Sony DVD+RW drive on sale for $25 this week at Staples is worth a look? They don't list the model # unfortunately.

ASUS has updated their website to include information on four new 22x DVD writers. The list of specifications don't seem to be complete yet but here's the breakdown so far:

Supposed I want to backup a movie using DVD+R DL, could I change the book type to DVD-ROM with this drive so the media will be more compatible to home players?

My Plextor PX-716 is now starting to burn very poorly on both CDs & DVD+Rs. [-X

(I have a BenQ DW1655 that I usually just use for Scans of the Plex disks and to disk quick copies)
