News of DVD Writers

The PX-850A and PX-850SA quietly showed up on Plextor's website this morning. The two drives support Plextor's new PlexUTILITIES software and are capable of 22x DVD±R, 8x DVD±R DL and 12x DVD-RAM writing speeds. The only apparent difference is that the PX-850SA is SATA.

If I had to guess, I'd say ...

I was ordering some Verbatim DVD+R DL but ordered Verbatim DVD-R DL 4X instead, now wondering which burner is good for them at 2.4x

Samsung S203S
Liteon DH-20A4P
LG GH22-NP20

Or can you recommend a drive which is good for DVD+R DL and DVD-R dl...Pioneer 216?

My Benq 1640 is dying and I need a replacement soon for Disk quality scanning.....I have the following in mind

3)iHAP322-08

Wondering also what's the difference between 04 and 08, oem vs retail? TIA

Pioneer Electronics has unveiled their first Qflix-enabled DVD writers. I haven't seen a full list of specs yet, but the DVR-2920Q and DVR-X162Q both offer 20x DVD±R writing speeds and Pioneer's Optimal Write Speed function.

The internal DVR-2920Q will begin shipping in October 2008 for a suggested price of $69.99. The external DVR-X162Q won't ship until November 2008 and will cost $114.99,

Samsung has three new 22x DVD writers on the way. Along with the SATA equipped SH-S223Q, they announced two new PATA drives, the SH-S222A and SH-S222L.

Q: I am seeking after the best IDE DVD-writer with low/lowest grade off writing error on Verbatim +R DL . Speed are not so important. And also support book type setting for both DVD +R and +R DL.

MITSUBISHI 4XDVD-RW disc burn a Vista ISO image by 216 can't be read by LiteON 48161H? write speed is 4X

but 48161H can read other DVD disc, and 216 read this disc is too slowly

why?

The first Qflix-enabled DVD burner has hit the market and surprisingly, its from Dell. I have no idea who's manufacturing it but if I had to guess, its Lite-On or Pioneer.
