News of Nero (Formerly Ahead Software)

I'm very experienced with computers but have only recently purchased a couple of CD-RW drives, by chance a Yamaha at work and a Norcent drive at home, both of which came bundled with Nero software (slightly different versions). My reason for getting the drives was primarily to do file backup for off-site storage. I haven't run into any problems at work using InCD on the Yamaha drive, but I've only formatted & put into use ...

I've had problems with InCD causing BSOD's in versions 3.27.1, 3.32 and 3.37. The strange thing is, the only time it happens is when I'm trying to format a blank Memorex High Speed Disc. I can format and use Great Quality brand High Speed Discs without any problem.

Stranger still is that the first disc I formatted with 3.27.1 after installing my new Norcent drive was a Memorex disc & the format seemed to go ...

I cannot overburn.

To start i have a pack of 50 90min or 817MB CDR, I also have files ranging in sizes from 710 - 797 MB and would like to burn them using Nero v 5.5.9.17.

2) Under Preferences in General change my Red Marker to 90 mins, and under Expert ...

I bought Nero 5.5 last week because Roxio blew up my system a few weeks prior. I bought Nero 5.5 for a client of mine also, along with a shiny new LaCie 48x12x48 firewire burner. I have a SONY CRX195E1 (40x/12x/48x ) and use Nero 5.5.9.17
In all the versions of nero i have used (5.5.8.0 to 5.5.9.17) Nero only lets me write at a max of 16x on princo 700 mb discs which have a max speed of 48x. I have tried these cds elsewhere and they do work at 48x

I made CD images usin Nero & WinISO to backup my collection of Super VCDs. When I tried to burn them Nero tells me my media's too small for it. I'm usin CD-Rs that have the same capacity as the original (700MB) one. Anyone know of a work around?

support multiple drive burning. In the new version it looks like this is an option can anyone confirm this for me. Thanks
