News of Nero (Formerly Ahead Software)

I'm using VBA with C++ DLL (MFC-based) wrapper around NeroAPI.dll. And has the problem just of NeroAPI initializing: NeroInit() always return me NEROAPI_INIT_INVALID_ARGS.

Here is the NeroSettings parameter of NeroInit(), I use:

When beginning the burn of a new disk with Nero I sometimes get this message : "There has been a possible read error. Do you want to continue anyway? "I always say "yes" and the new disk SEEMS flawless. It's just a little concerning that something is not completely acceptable to the program since I cannot verify that the information on the new disk is, indeed, accurate and intact. Has anyone experienced this? Any thoughts ...

I'm using Nero 5.5.1.8 and a Plextor 12x10x32A :( to create a data cd. The amount of data is 703 MB, so I grabbed one of my 80min Philips Silver Premiums and thought that these extra 3 MBs wouldn't cause me problems :o
However, when I started the burn-process Nero immediately told me there wasn't enough space,... bla ...

I had a demo version of nero but my new burner came with nero so I uninstalled the old one. I even used RegCleaner to clear all references to nero and Ahead on the registry. If I do a search for nero or ahead, nothing comes up.

I still get the same message when I try to install Nero.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Ahead's website says that an API is available for Nero 5.5 (look in the features list) with documentation available in Q4 2001. So far there is no sign of it and the only response we have had from Ahead (and then only after a lot of prodding) was that it would be available 'shortly'.

Does anyone know anything about this API?

Can anyone suggest or recommend an alternative API for VB - preferably an ActiveX ...

I have just been given a Samsung sw-216 and Nero v5 software.

I have fitted the CDR and windows seems to have detected the drive fine, I then installed Nero 5 and when I tried to open it I got the error "Nero has caused an error in cdrom.dll. Nero will now close" or something like that. When I try to open it again it comes up with a warning "InCD currently accesses one or ...
