After having lots of trouble with my 48X MSI CD-RW, I sold it. Now I'm using my good old 12X LG. MSI used to create LOTS of coasters, even at low speeds.
The important things for me in a drive:
1) Reliable, won't speed up and down all the time and get stuck at a point and kill the CD, will recommend a reliable writing speed for each media
2) Silent
3) Cheap

How many of you guys saw the NBA All-Star game?

This game was one of the best, it went into double overtime and was filled with so many good moments. The half-time tribute to MJ was truely special. And if Mike couldn't win the MVP atleast my man KG did. :D

Is anyone using Ultra speed CDRW media (16X-24X) with this drive, I'm asking because drive has only High Speed logo, and there are no High Speed media (4x-12X) that work at 16X, so for burning at 16X, Ultra Speed media would be only solution. I asked LG support about this, but they sent me a PDF with tech. specification (???), and were not much of a help.

FW version is 1.03

i have a multi-session CDR that i use each time a sql server service pack comes out. i gave it to a co-worker to copy but it failed. can you copy a multi-session CDR that hasn't been closed yet?

Who makes them? I've seen them at my store, but I fear they might be CMC, I have enough CMCs! :lol:

I grabbed the last $20 drive on sale at my local officemax, and alas, it was not a liteon, but an optorite. Some searching of this forum has revealed that some folk think this is a crappy drive. Is there a newer version of MTKFLASH then 1.55? because I tried to flash my Sony 48/12/48 to LiteOn 52/24/52 but MTKFLASH says it doesn't know the memory type. I managed to update the drive to Sony 52/24/52 with the Windows Updater from Sony, but nothing with MTKFLASH that worked flawlessly with my Memorex 1240AJ (LiteOn 32123S).

Did a search for Roxio but nothing seems to have been posted here.
